THE OFFICIAL ESTABLISHMENT OF THE KOSOVO-BULGARIA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE WAS ANNOUNCED

President Rosen Plevneliev, Solomon Passy and Tomislav Tsolov announced the official establishment of the Kosovo-Bulgaria Chamber of Commerce (KBCC) at the ceremony held on 27 September 2023 at the InterContinental Hotel in Sofia. Prominent figures from the diplomatic, business and academic communities have shown their support and interest in this historic step in the relations between the Republic of Kosovo and the Republic of Bulgaria.
At the event the Ambassador of the Republic of Kosovo, H.E. Delfin Plana, was awarded the highest distinctive award of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs – “Golden Laurel Branch”, for his outstanding contribution to the development and deepening of relations between Kosovo and Bulgaria. He highlighted the importance of the KBCC as a key element in good diplomatic relations between the two countries and encouraged the business communities to get actively involved in the Chamber.
The Chairman of the Board of the KBCC – Mr. Tomislav Tsolov, one of the initiators of the project, underlined the importance of the Chamber, defining it as the strong voice of the business before the authorities and institutions in Kosovo and Bulgaria. Before the guests of the event he also pointed out that the aim of the Chamber is to promote and support the commercial activities and interests of both countries.
Mr Solomon Passy, Bulgaria’s Foreign Minister, who is credited with the recognition of the Republic of Kosovo, expressed his support for the establishment of the KBCC and his commitment to the economic and social development of relations between the two countries.
The event was also attended by the Deputy Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the two countries – Ms. Elena Shekerletova from the Republic of Bulgaria and Ms. Liza Gashi from the Republic of Kosovo, who also expressed their support for the Kosovo-Bulgaria Chamber of Commerce and noted the importance of the establishment of the KBCC, which will contribute to the development of economic partnerships at both institutional and business level.
The ceremony ended with a tasting of a selection of wines from Kosovo and Bulgaria, a symbolic beginning of the exchange of ideas and opportunities between the two Balkan countries.
